Paul has been in People Development for nearly 3 decades and over the last two decades, having an innate fascination with what makes people tick and how to maximise performance, productivity, and engagement, became a qualified Behavioural Psychologist which is when he moved more into Business & Management Coaching where his passion for helping people gain a greater understanding of themselves and their skills, traits and preferences and enabling them to get from where they were to a place they wanted to be, really shone through.

Consequently, Paul has become a leading exponent of Emotional Intelligence and The Human Givens approach which ascertains people’s needs, in order to provide them with the awareness of what they need from the workplace in order to function at their very best.

Paul’s approach, although highly impactful, is based on three very simple principles; Understanding Self, Understanding Others and Relationship Building which can be applied to any organisational structures from operatives to senior leadership teams but with a special emphasis on engaging and empowering Managers and Team Leaders and Graduates.

Coaching philosophy

Paul believes that we are all a work in progress and that none of us are yet the finished article.  Paul believes it is his job, as a coach, to find out what it is that a person wants to improve, where they are looking to go and to help them get there.  

“My philosophy is that I work in partnership with someone on helping to establish realistic goals and to enable them to break those goals down into bite sized chunks. Then each step feels, and becomes, a whole lot less daunting and, with help, encouragement and continued support we can achieve far more than we ever thought possible.”
